Here’s a bit of news that has us scratching our heads, but stranger things have happened, so we’ll just go ahead and try to accept it for what it is. The image you can see above is reportedly of an internal Verizon email, and it outlines how the next week of launches is going to look for the Big Red network. As you can see, the Motorola DROID 4 is listed right there, right above the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Not too much is surprising about the Nexus news, but that DROID 4 launch has us a little bewildered.
The reason being, is due to the fact that while the Motorola DROID 4 is certainly coming soon, recent rumors had suggested that it wouldn’t be seeing store shelves until the end of December, something like December 22nd. But, according to this newest leak, it looks like the DROID 4 is actually set to launch on December 8th. Surprising, but only because December 8th was the original rumored launch date for the handset, tied with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but was thought to be “pushed back” for whatever reason.
Now it looks like everything is back on track, and the Galaxy Nexus is really launching (for real!) on December 9th. Our fingers are crossed. And if you wanted a RAZR with a full, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, then the DROID 4 launching this Thursday is probably great news, too.
