We knew that Verizon and Motorola were working on releasing another software update for the Motorola DROID, and it looks like the time has finally come for owners to get that particular update. It isn’t a huge update, as the new software is meant to simply add a couple security fixes. But, an update is an update.
We’re seeing reports in our inbox that the software version FRK76 has found its way to a few people’s handsets, which tells us that the initial roll-out of the update should be underway. The new software also brings the original DROID’s software version to Android 2.2.3. If you’re still rocking the DROID that started it all, keep checking your phone for the software update notification.
