Curious, if we do say so ourselves. While we’re not going to sit here and say that we know when, exactly, the Galaxy Nexus by Samsung is launching on Verizon’s network, there does seem to be some interesting things happening over at Verizon’s site. However, before we get into that, we should point out that there’s a very strong possibility that this kind of thing was “on a timer,” and supposed to launch today. So, with that out of our system, let’s get to it.
As you can see from the image above, that’s definitely the area you’re lead to on Verizon’s site when you’re trying to buy a phone. It’s curious, because that’s the new page you get when you try to hit up Verizon’s sign-up page for the Galaxy Nexus: http://vzw.com/galaxynexus. So instead of a nice little area where you can tell Verizon you’re interested in learning more about the phone, it leads you to a page where you can buy the phone. Except, there’s no phone to buy. The ‘Samsung Nexus’ is still unlisted, and there’s no information on the page at all to learn anything new.
It is interesting, though. Does it mean that Verizon is getting ready to release the phone? Could be. But, when that date is is anyone’s guess at this point.
So, looks like the folks at Verizon realized they messed up, and have changed the site back to the way it was. You can head on over to http://vzw.com/galaxynexus and it will bring you back to the sign-up page, and no longer an area to shop online. Shucks, right?
