Yesterday, we reported that the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos and Duos Pro would be heading to China. As previously mentioned, the moniker “Duos” points to the rare feature of having the ability to harness both CDMA and GSM networks. Thus the phones would house dual SIM cards to make that all possible. Well, looks like the Suwon-based manufacturer is not wasting any time.
This morning it was announced that the Samsung Galaxy S II would also be getting dual radios and that variant would be shipping to China Telecom also. It features the same 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, and an 8MP camera. It is going to be called the Samsung Galaxy S II Duos (quite a mouthful to be sure) and should be shipping with Gingerbread, but as we all know, the Galaxy S II is on the short list for an ICS update; the Duos variant is no exception. In any case, those people in China will be able to enjoy that shortly.
