Samsung SCH-R920 passes through the FCC, could be headed to metroPCS

Unlike most devices that pass through the hallowed halls of the FCC and emerge from its gauntlet, the SCH-R920 from Samsung is a mystery at this point in time. There are a few hints coming from the report, but other than the very basic of information regarding this handset reportedly headed to metroPCS, we don’t have much to go on.

First and foremost, as far as any indicators as to where this device is headed, we’ve got the CDMA 800 and 1900 bands. Add that to the 1700 LTE bands along for the ride, and it would seem that all signs point this device in the direction of metroPCS. The other clue comes in the model number itself, which is right in line to being the SCH-R910′s direct successor. the R910 is metroPCS’ Samsung Forte, so it is not certainly out of the realm of possibility. We’ll just have to wait and see when Samsung or metroPCS want to officially unveil this handset, and hope it’s worth the wait for the regional carrier.
