If you own a Sony Ericsson device, then you may or may not have been using the company’s Sync service to back up all of your contacts. If you are someone that chooses to go with Sony Ericsson’s variant, then you already know that the manufacturer is getting rid of the service altogether, and here’s a friendly reminder from the company to make sure that you back up all of your contacts using a difference service.
We are phasing out the Sony Ericsson Sync service to keep up to date and to encourage a more enhanced and integrated smartphone experience. Instead we recommend using the Google Sync™ service for a more integrated experience. Other alternatives are Plaxo and UNYK, or another sync service you may already be using.”
It’s good that they are reminding users pretty consistently. We imagine that there will be someone out there that still acts like they didn’t know, but at least we know Sony Ericsson is trying to spread the word. We would recommend syncing your information with the Google services that come standard on your Android phone, just to make it easy for you.
Sony Ericsson will be done with Sync, and so will you, on December 29th.
