Well look what we have here. The original Xperia Play was more or less a dud, featuring mid-range specs (at the time) for a device that was supposed to run the most high-end games. It ultimately didn’t meet the expectations, and turned into a niche phone. Above you see an image of what is supposedly a Verizon training document, showing that they may be taking another crack at the Xperia Play.
Dubbed the Xperia Play 4G, the name infers that it may include access to Verizon’s LTE network. There’s no word of a spec bump, but in today’s market that would be necessary to even compete. This phone should not be mistaken with AT&T’s Xperia Play 4G, which has already been out for months. Also, there isn’t any word on a release date, and it’s doubtful it will make it in time for the holidays. Anyone excited about another Xperia Play? Have your eyes on another phone for gaming?
