Sony Tablet S now supports DualShock 3 controllers in Japan

When Sony unveiled their brand new tablet devices, one of the cornerstones of that announcement was how the devices were PlayStation Certified. For anyone who doesn’t own an XPERIA Play here in the States, that means that there are several games that launched on the original PlayStation that will now work just fine on certified devices like the Tablet S. But, on-screen buttons will never compare to an actual controller, and Sony knows that. That’s why they’ve updated their Tablet S to support physical controllers.

Specifically, the Tablet S now has full support for the DualShock 3 controller. There’s as light hitch, though. They won’t just work. You’ll have to sync your DualShock 3 controller to a USB adapter cable first, which is sold separately. And, as the title suggests, this update is only supported in Japan, but we imagine it will find its way to international markets sooner or later.
