Twitter for Android Updated With New UI

Twitter is rolling out a brand new site design today and they’ve updated the Android app to go along with it. First thing you’ll notice is new tabs across the top. You’ve got Home, Connect, Discover, and Me. Home obviously just shows your timeline. Connect is a little different than you might expect. Opening the COnnect tab will greet you with an “Interactions” and “Mentions” tab across the bottom. Interactions shows mentions and following info, for example it will show if someone started following you. Discover shows popular stories and topics, and Me is your profile.

Here is the official list of changes from Twitter:

  1. The latest version of Twitter offers a faster, simpler way to stay close to everything you care about on your Android.
  2. Home is where you start: a personal collection of Tweets from the sources you care about. The Tweet details show rich information such as replies, retweets and embedded images.
  3. Connect is the place to see who followed or mentioned you, retweeted or favorited one of your Tweets.
  4. Discover is where you can tap into the stories and trends people are talking about in your world.
