The next site to succumb to Google’s new UI overhaul is YouTube. Some of us have already been using the new UI, but starting today it’s rolling out for everyone. The first thing you’ll notice is the slight resemblance to Google+. Like Google+, the homepage is divided into three columns. The left column houses your account info and a list of channels you’re subscribed to. The middle column is the main focus, it shows latest videos from subscribed channels, but also more depending on what you select from the left column. You can show videos shared by Google+ friends, Facebook friends, or just a single channel. The right column lists recommended videos.
Video pages haven’t changed much, but you can now subscribe without visiting the channel page by clicking the “+” next to the channel name above the video. These changes are clearly geared towards social, which is Google’s big push lately. The new design is rolling out today. Check out the video below!
