ASUS Eee Pad Transformer set to receive Ice Cream Sandwich after January 12

The original Transformer from ASUS, the one that started all the rage for some people, is still scheduled to get its update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich this year, but up until recently the exact timing was anyone’s guess. While ASUS was more than willing to offer up a date for their brand new quad-core tablet, the Transformer Prime and its impending update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, we’ve still been waiting patiently to hear when the company plans on updating the original beast.

That waiting has come to a halt, finally, more or less. While we don’t have an exact date quite yet, we do know that the Transformer Prime will see the update to Android 4.0 first, and then the original Transformer will get updated. According to ASUS, the company is doing all it can to make sure that the original Transformer gets updated immediately after the Transformer Prime, which means that the update to the original will happen after the January 12th update date, and no sooner than that.

We may not have an exact date, but it’s better than nothing. Here’s to hoping that January 13th is a special date for owners of the original Transformer.
