When ASUS announced a sequel to the original Transformer Prime mere days after stock had flooded the market, many users were concerned that their shiny new tablet would soon be outdated. This doesn’t look to be the case, at least according to ASUS. They have just confirmed on their UK blog that it will be unlikely for tablets to be available until at least June, at least in the UK. This gives the original plenty of time to be sold, but it will still have a very short lifespan.
ASUS also confirmed that they will be extending the warranty on all Transformer Primes for an additional 6 months to the existing 12, bringing the total to 18 months. There is no word on if this will be coming to the US, but we’ll keep you posted. While many manufacturers are slowing down the production of Android devices, ASUS has gone the other way. And with users knowing their tablet will be succeeded in a few short months, it may cause them not to buy the tablet. How do you feel about ASUS releasing a successor so soon? Does the extended warranty make up for it? Let us know in the comments!
