CyanogenMod hits 1 million unique user installs

CyanogenMod is most one of the most popular custom ROMs currently available, and they now have a big number to show it. Last night the original creator of the ROM let the world know that they officially have 1 million unique user installs. That means that the ROM has been flashed on 1 million different devices. Of those installs, the most popular version was version 7.1, with about 200,000 installs. Followed by that is version 7.1RC, with 48,000 installs. The most popular device is the original HTC Desire, with about 81,000 installs.

This is a huge milestone for the hacking community, as 1 million installs is no small number. Some may consider it nothing with over 200 million Android devices activated, but it certainly is on a plenty of users minds. CyanogenMod 9 is going to be released soon, and that should attract many users looking to get Android 4.0 on their older devices. The hacking community of Android just keeps getting larger, and this is good for just about everyone. Do you run CyanogenMod? What ROM are you currently using? Let us know in the comments!
