No matter how high profile a device is, or even how recently a commercial may have marketed it, there’s always a time when a device will be making the inexorable appearance on an end of life (EoL) list for a carrier. It looks like T-Mobile USA is getting ready to list plenty of handsets for their EoL status, and some names on the list may surprise you.
First and foremost, we’re seeing the HTC Amaze 4G and Sensation 4G both listed above, which seems like a bold move from the Magenta carrier. We have heard in the past that the HTC Ville is set to arrive on T-Mobile’s network here in the (near?) future, but it still seems strange that T-Mobile would move to cancel both of their current high-end HTC devices for only one coming down the pipe. Then again, if the HTC Ville is marketed the way it probably should be, then removing two devices for the sake of one may make perfect sense.
Other devices on the list include the recently released LG DoublePlay, the LG myTouch, and the LG myTouch Q. All of these handsets are marked as “nearing EoL,” which means that any day now T-Mobile could pull the trigger on these devices and start to watch the stock dwindle to nothing. Nothing is official quite yet, but there doesn’t seem to be any reason we don’t think these handsets are on their way out.
Who’s going to miss them?
