A few days ago, we reported that Sprint’s first 3D phone, the HTC EVO 3D, was getting set to receive a maintenance update to address a few bugs on the device, as well as improve the overall performance of the device. Well, apparently there was a hidden surprise for owners of the device as well. A new report suggests that the device is now, after the update, devoid of any Carrier IQ tracking.
The update removes Carrier IQ, which was found by doing a quick search through the device’s settings. Both the HTC IQAgent and IQRD are now missing from the device. Having these two options no longer listed as active processes on the device should come as a relief for anyone who wasn’t a fan of Carrier IQ running on their handset.
