The HTC ThunderBolt has been out for awhile now, and there have been plenty of releases of higher-end devices since then. But if you’ve been waiting for the ThunderBolt’s price to fall, all in hopes that it wouldn’t be shelved and kept away from your anticipating hands, now is the time. Verizon has reportedly dropped the price of the device as far as it can go: free on contract.
It has been awhile, so here’s a refresher: the ThunderBolt features a 4.3-inch WVGA display, with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood and an 8MP rear-facing camera. The device is running Android 2.2 Froyo, so keep that in mind. But, for Verizon’s first 4G LTE-connected device, and a free price tag, it may be worth overlooking that old version of Android. Plus, Verizon is keeping this offer for a limited time, running the free price tag until January 26th.
Or maybe it isn’t. Either way, the ThunderBolt seems to be heading the way of the Dodo, so this may be one of the last times you get a chance at picking it up at a Verizon store. Who’s taking the leap?
