Lenovo brings Android-powered HDTVs to CES

It looks like Lenovo is trying to branch out, it a big way. We all know that the biggest gadget show of the year is just around the corner. It is a great opportunity for press, consumers, and producers to come out and strut their stuff so to speak. Well Lenovo did exactly that. The company made famous through their laptops has decided to develop TVs. What else? The new line of TVs are NOT Google TVs. Weird? It is to us, especially since Google has pushed Google TV in a big way this past year. Still, not all strange news is bad news. It looks like Lenovo will be using the newest flavor of the Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich. Now the TVs are only going to be available in China for now, but we should be hearing word soon as to what their plans are for the rest of the world.

The Lenovo K91 HDTV features:

  • Qualcomm 8060 Snapdragon processor (1.5GHz)
  • 1 GB of RAM with 8GB of storage & a 2GB SD card
  • Access to Lenovo’s cloud-based services
  • 5MP webcam
  • Motion-sensitive remote with integrated keyboard, touchpad, & mic
  • Voice recognition to control TV functions
  • Available in 2 sizes, 42-inches & 55-inches
