Lenovo ThinkPad tablet in line to receive Ice Cream Sandwich update second quarter of 2012

Lenovo hasn’t been quiet about future updates to their ThinkPad and IdeaPad tablets, even if they haven’t exactly provided specific dates as to when these updates will occur. As it stands right now, we know the updates to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich are coming, but we just don’t know when quite yet. At least, not for the IdeaPad, anyway. Earlier today Lenovo made it official that their ThinkPad tablet would be receiving the much anticipated update within the second quarter of this year.

Lenovo’s ThinkPad tablet is a business-based device, and it was launched with Android 3.1 Honeycomb on board back in July of last year. It’s held up its own in the business world, but its security features, as well as user-based features, would be upgraded to a whole new level with an update to Android 4.0.

For anyone out there who owns the ThinkPad, this should be some pretty good news. As soon as we know more from Lenovo, we will be sure to pass it along.
