Over the past few months we’ve heard many rumors about a successor to LG’s original Optimus Pad. All that is over, as LG has just announced the Optimus Pad LTE. It features a 8.9-inch IPS display with a 1280 x 768 resolution, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, a 8MP camera on back with a 2MP one on the front, LTE connectivity, 32GB of onboard storage, and will run Android 3.2. All of this is in a slim package at only 1.1 pounds, and measuring in at 9.34mm.
It’s alarming that LG is launching this tablet now, as it features older specs with an outdated version of Android. Hopefully an update to Android 4.0 will be quick, then the tablet may be able to compete with high-end tablets like ASUS’ Transformer Prime. It will launch in South Korea initially, but there is no word on release date or price. Hopefully we’ll hear more about in the next few weeks. What do you think of the Optimus Pad LTE? Is it too late to successfully release it? Let us know in the comments!
