Earlier today, Nuance launched Dragon Go! on the Android Market. Yes, it is delicious so Siri eat your heart out. The app works pretty much like all Q/A apps (Google Voice Search included). You press a button, you ask a question, press the stop button, and voila!
The app pulls answers from a variety of websites like Wolfram Alpha, Yelp, Youtube, OpenTable, AccuWeather, Ask.com, Dictionary.com, ESPN, Facebook, Fandango, Last.fm, LiveNation, Milo.com, Pandora… You get the picture. Unlike the industry standard for Q/A apps right now (Siri, sorry to say), Dragon Go! allows you to scroll through all relevant results in addition to checking alternate sources.
What does that mean? Say you ask Nuance’s application for some movie times. You’d get the relevant page from Fandango showing showtimes, but you also get film info from sites like IMDB and Rotten Tomato. So, if you’ve been waiting for that viable Siri alternative, head over to the Market and get yourself a copy! Waiting for the catch? Smart. Well it only works in certain regions and it does not play nice with Ice Cream Sandwich.
