Well, it’s just a rumor at this point, but there may be some changes coming to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, insofar as new carrier alternatives are concerned. As you know, the Galaxy Nexus is currently exclusively offered by Verizon Wireless but starting next month, that’s all set to change. Based on figures posted on NenaMark, the new Nexus that is set to shed its monogamous ties to Verizon will sport a faster process, most likely in the range of 1.5GHz to 1.8GHz. In case you’re not keeping track, the current Verizon Nexus sports a 1.2GHz CPU.
This is all just scuttlebutt at this point, but isn’t it fun to dream? In any case, we will just have to wait and see. For those that have the Verizon Nexus, don’t fret. There are options out there that will allow you to overclock your processor yourself, provided you’ve rooted your device. If you don’t feel comfortable with that process, well, then you’re out of luck. Hopefully, we’ll hear word about this soon.
