During November and December of last year, Sony Ericsson’s upcoming high-end phone the LT26i, reportedly codenamed the Nozomi, managed to find its way onto the Internet in all sorts of ways. Leak after leak, all suggesting that the device would be one of the company’s flagship devices for 2012. To start the year right, the manufacturer posted some “teases” for what they will be unveiling at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this year, with all signs pointing to the upcoming announcement of the Nozomi, or the Xperia Arc HD.
We have some fresh photos of the device, courtesy of ITProPortal, showcasing the device’s beautiful front display. For those of you who don’t remember, this is Sony Ericsson’s answer to all those other “true HD” displays out there, with the Nozomi reportedly featuring a display with a 720p Sony BRAVIA Engine display. Under the hood there’s rumored to be a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It will reportedly launch with Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread. On the back, there’s a 12MP rear-facing Sony Exmor R Sensor.
We fully expect Sony Ericsson to unveil this device next week at CES, so if you’re excited to see what it looks like, stay tuned. Interestingly enough, ITProPortal is calling the handset the Sony Ericsson Xperia HD, rather than the Arc HD. We’ll have to wait and see where Sony Ericsson takes the naming.
