While Pantech may be aiming to release their new tablet before the start of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas just a week from now, Velocity Micro has more of a traditional plan: showcase their brand new tablets at the event, and let the excitement build. The company has a pair of new tablets set to be unveiled at the event: the 7-inch T507, and the 9.7-inch T510, both of which will be running the latest version of Android, despite what the pictures suggest.
The devices are similar in their specifications, with just the difference in display size. Both of the tablets will run a 1.2GHz single core processor under the hood, feature 8GB of built-in storage, and HDMI video out. Interestingly enough, though, both tablets will not feature a rear-facing camera, but will have a front-facing shooter for video chat. Even more interesting, though: both devices will be connected to the Amazon Appstore, and not Google’s Android Market.
They will both launch with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, though, so that should count for something. We’ll have to see how the devices stand out on the showroom floor, or if they even do at all.
