Yesterday we reported that Acer was rolling out the Ice Cream Sandwich update to owners of the Iconia Tab A200, something a little unexpected but very welcome. Today we bring news of something less fortunate, as the update will be hitting Acer’s A500 tablet sometime in April. This is much later than the expected January launch date, but delays do happen. No word on the exact date, but we’re gonna assume that it shouldn’t be too far into April.
This was confirmed by Acer’s very own Australia and New Zealand branch, so it may not apply to the rest of the world. It still gives a general timeline, and we’d place a hefty bet that the US will receive the update around the same time as other regions. At least the tablet will be receiving the update, as just knowing it’s coming can satisfy many users. What do you think of the delay? Would you prefer a more polished build or do you just want Ice Cream Sandwich now? Let us know in the comments!
