A few weeks back we heard that Google has been testing a secret project in its employee’s homes. At the time, it seemed like that may have had something to do with Android@Home. It turns out that it may be something totally different, along the lines of a Google-branded home entertainment center. It is said to be able to stream music to Google-branded wireless speakers, as well as stream to various other devices in one’s house. All of this is powered by our favorite little robot operating system, Android.
The best part is the fact that it may be launching sometime this year. Other than that, the rest is speculation. If we had to make some predictions, we would say that this is a new version of Google TV, integrating to many other services. We also think there is a good chance that this new media center could be announced at Google I/O, launching not too much longer after. We’ll have to see what pans out, but it sounds like Google is in the final stages of launching the product. What do you think of a Google home entertainment center? What do you think it will include?
