HTC’s new naming structure is interesting, to say the least. While nothing has been confirmed as of yet, the new “One…” series of devices may be enough to promote HTC’s new “quality over quantity” strategy. Then again, if we keep hearing about upcoming devices, that may just go right out the window. This time around it’s the One V, which is rumored to be a music-focused device, and set to make its official debut at MWC later this month.
According to sources speaking with Pocket-lint, the HTC One V is a Beats Audio-fused device, with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display. There will be a 1GHz processor under the hood, and 1GB of RAM along for the ride. Additionally, the report suggests the handset will be launching with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. There’s reportedly a 5MP rear-facing camera, which will be capable of recording 720p HD videos.
As you can imagine from the rumored specifications listed above, this handset will be marketed for the mid-tier level of Android powered phones, instead of the top-tier. Unfortunately, there aren’t many more details to go on, other than it is believed the device will be unveiled later this month.
The above rumors may sound familiar because they are the same rumors we’ve seen associated with a previous device: the HTC Primo.
