HTC has come clean on their plans to update existing devices to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and it’s a list that many owners have eagerly been anticipating seeing. Of course, there aren’t any real surprises on the list, but it’s still good to see that HTC is being as straight forward as they can regarding the update strategy.
The first batch of devices includes the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XE, and the HTC Sensation 4G. These updates should start being released for the phones by the end of March. HTC then went on to say that updates for the HTC Rezound, Amaze 4G, Vivid, EVO Design 4G, EVO 3D, Incredible S, Desire HD, and Desire S will be released later this year, with no exact date provided.
While it’s not the best news for owners of the “second batch” to hear that they won’t be getting the updates as soon as they would like, it is better than nothing. HTC is also expected to reveal even more information about the updates in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
