Over in Germany, there is a significant lack of 4G LTE devices. But that is changing very soon, as a confirmation from Vodafone has nailed the HTC Velocity as the first 4G LTE-based device to land within the Germany borders. The Velocity is a well-known device in other markets, as it saw a release here in the States as the HTC Vivid, and in South Korea as the HTC Raider. But, that doesn’t mean those in Germany shouldn’t be looking forward to this device.
The Velocity by HTC features a 4.5-inch qHD touchscreen, and you’ll find a 1.5GHz dual-core processor under the hood. It will be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread right out of the box. There’s an 8MP camera around back, and a 1.3MP front-facing shooter for good measure. You’ll find 16GB of built-in storage on the device, and 1GB of RAM.
The carrier was nice enough to confirm the impending launch of the device via Germany’s Computer Woche, but the confirmation is lacking any word on a price or launch date. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
