The 3D revolution may have quieted down by now, but that doesn’t mean that LG is ready to give up the fight. We’ve already seen the CX2 by LG leak in the past, and rumors suggest that it could be called the Optimus 3D 2 or the Optimus 3D Max when it finally sees an official announcement, but now we’ve got a few more details to go along with a nice new white-washed render.
The new details include an optimized, IPS-based 3D display. This bit of information comes out of ETNews. They also suggest that the cameras on the back of the device will stick to the 5MP variety, but that LG promises better performance, while also providing better ways to edit, and more content.
Furthering the rumor mill, LG is said to be scaling back on the size of the new device. The company is said to be marking the device down to only 0.39-inches, while the device is said to only weigh 0.71 ounces. It doesn’t look like anyone is going anywhere near the previous rumors of a newly added 1.2GHz dual-core processor, along with 8GB of storage.
LG is expected to unveil the device at this year’s Mobile World Congress later this month, so if you’re excited about it, you don’t have long to wait. Who wants to take bets on whether or not the CX2 is running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 2.3 Gingerbread?
