On Tuesday, Meizu officially unveiled a Beta testing program for its M9 handset. The company has yet to release a final date for when the device will be officially upgraded, but the Beta test is a good start. The Beta test will be made available for customers based in China, but as well as customers outside of the region. However, for customers outside of China, the test will be met with a bit stricter policies.
Meizu posted the information on Meizu Me, informing owners of the M9 that the Beta test would be open to those who owned the device, but that not everyone would be chosen. Specifically, it looks like there are only a limited number of open spots, and that it is based on a system which is geared more towards fans who have been with Meizu longer. Or, perhaps, more frequently present on the forums.
We’re still waiting for Meizu to mark an official date, so as soon as we hear more we will pass on the information. The update will also apply to the Meizu MX, when the official update finally lands.
