When a top-tier new device launches, it usually isn’t long before the fine folks over at iFixit get their hands onto it, and inevitably tear it down. That’s exactly what we’re looking at here, as you see the image above of a skinned DROID 4 by Motorola. There are a few key details that the teardown reveals, but the biggest one may have to do with the keyboard.
As usual, Motorola’s focus on the DROID’s slide-out keyboard is evident, even if they did decide to change something around in this version. The keyboard is now attached to the handset’s motherboard. So if your keyboard starts to act strange, or worse, you lose functionality in a key, you’ll not only have to replace the keyboard, but the motherboard as well. Good thing for warranties, right?
