It’s been a long time coming. There were plenty of rumors, speculation and leaks before today, but the day has finally come. The latest addition to the DROID lineage is finally here, ready for you to purchase. And, surprisingly enough, it doesn’t bolster the huge price tag that Verizon has made so famous over the course of 4G LTE-based releases with the DROID branding.
The DROID 4 by Motorola is now available for purchase for only $199.99 on a new, two-year contract. It features a 4-inch qHD touchscreen display, with a resolution of 540×960. There’s 1GB of RAM inside, with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor running the show. It features an 8MP rear-facing camera, with a 1.3MP front-facing shooter. It is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread right out of the box, and you can use the device as a mobile Hotspot to connect up to eight additional devices.
The battery is measured in at 1,785mAh, but it is the non-removable kind, so keep that in mind. You can order your device online, or head right into a store to check it out for yourself before you pull the trigger on a purchase.
