Earlier tonight, reports started coming in that the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX was listed as out of stock on Verizon’s website. That was true, and while the device is still technically “out of stock,” it looks like Verizon has finally decided to change the verbiage on the site.
Instead of simply listing the device as being out of stock, and thoroughly dashing the hope of anyone who wanted to purchase the handset earlier tonight, Big Red has decided to let impending purchasers that their handset won’t actually ship until the 9th of February, after they but it. This kind of thing didn’t happen with the original DROID RAZR (not that we’re aware of, anyway), so it would be safe to assume that either Motorola didn’t make enough of the newest handset within the RAZR lineage, or the handset has been a pretty good success for both the manufacturer and wireless carrier.
Go ahead and head through the source link to see the future ship date for yourself, and pull the trigger on a final purchase if you dare.
via Verizon; thanks, Tyler!
