Yesterday we saw a sign that promoted the Galaxy Note 10.1 by Samsung. Several days before that we had heard a rumor that Samsung was planning on bringing the Note name to the tablet family, adding that S-Pen to those out there who want something a bit bigger than a device that falls between a phone and a tablet. Today, Samsung has officially announced their latest 10.1-inch device, following in the footsteps previously laid out by the recently announced Galaxy Tab 10.1 2.
The Galaxy Note 10.1, though, has the features people probably expected to see in the true successor to the Galaxy Tab 10.1, and with the S-Pen the Galaxy Note 10.1 may be the device people choose instead. The Galaxy Note 10.1 features a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1280×800. Under the hood you’ll find a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and will come in three options of built-in storage: 16/32/64GB. There’s a 3MP rear-facing camera, and on the front a 2MP shooter. The battery is measured in at 7,000mAh, and the device will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box.
And, as you can see from the image, Samsung has indeed loaded their custom TouchWiz UI onto the device.
As for a launch date, there’s no word yet, but it should be soon enough.
