Back at the early part of January, right around the time that the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas was going on, T-Mobile USA was being questioned as to why they weren’t announcing any new devices at the trade show. While they didn’t have a big presence at the event, they did manage to unveil a new handset, which was set to launch sometime later this year. That particular handset happens to be the Galaxy S Blaze 4G by Samsung, and tonight marks a brand new “launch window” for the device.
If you’re even kind of interested in this reiteration of the Galaxy S line-up, then the “later this year” tag line probably didn’t do much for you. But, late tonight, T-Mobile and Samsung have revealed a closer, yet still vague launch date for the handset. Now, instead of later this year, we’re looking at a “late March” release. No, still no exact dates to go on.
However, we do know the device will feature a 3.97-inch Super AMOLED display, with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor under the hood. It will be launching with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but this newest press release does reveal that the device is being planned for an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. OF course, no dates are revealed for that.
When it finally does land in stores, you’ll be able to pick it up for $149.99 on a new, two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
The full press release is below.
