An image released by SFR France suggests that owners of the GSM Galaxy Nexus by Samsung, along with the Nexus S, will be receiving an update to Android 4.0.5 by some time in March. The carrier is already talking about future updates, laying it out in a nice table for owners to take a gander at.
There isn’t an exact date quite yet, but March is the month pegged for the update. As for why the GSM Galaxy Nexus is getting Android 4.0.5, while the CDMA-based version just received an unofficial build of Android 4.0.4 yesterday, it comes down to who is in charge of the updates. We know that some Galaxy Nexus devices are getting updated by Samsung and not Google, and that seems to be the defining line here.
But at least we know that Android 4.0.5 is coming, and it should bring plenty of the same changes that the CDMA version of the Galaxy Nexus saw with Android 4.0.4. As soon as we know more, we’ll pass it along.
