Today is a busy day for announcements. After Huawei and Samsung managed to steal much of the spotlight late last night and this morning, Sony is busy taking the stage at their own event right now. During this time, they’re announcing three brand new handsets: The Xpera P, Xperia U, and the Xperia S. All three devices showcase Sony’s new design strategy, as well as plenty of other features.
The first device to make the announcement was the Xperia P. The device features a 4-inch touchscreen display, which will take advantage of Sony’s WhiteMagic technology. The result should be easy viewing no matter where you are, even in the sun. There’s a 1GHz dual-core processor under the hood, and the Xperia P features an 8MP camera on the back. The Xperia P also features a unibody aluminum design, so the handset should feel light and durable all at the same time.
As for a launch date, Sony is expecting to release the new Xperia P sometime in the second quarter of this year.
