Here in the United States ZTE isn’t a household name in the smartphone race, but that doesn’t mean that the company isn’t going to try and change that in the 2012 smartphone race. They’re throwing open the doors with the brand new Era, which is filled with all sorts of high-end features, and certainly a good looking device to boot.
The Era by ZTE features a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen display, with a resolution of 960×540. Under the hood you’ll find a 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 4-PLUS-1 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Era will come with 8GB of built-in storage, and the device will be measuring in at only 7.8mm thin. On the back you’ll find an 8MP camera, and ZTE was nice enough to load Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on the device right at launch.
There’s been rumors that the Era will be coming to the States, but ZTE wouldn’t make that announcement quite yet. Instead, they’ve confirmed that it will be launching in Europe and China within the second quarter of this year, but no exact dates were provided.
