HTC myTouch 4G and myTouch 4G Slide planned to receive maintenance update

Our good pals over at TmoNews have let us know about an upcoming update to the myTouch 4G and its keyboard equipped brother, the myTouch 4G Slide. Both updates will include a Google security update, with the myTouch 4G also getting a new version of Swype and software improvements. The myTouch 4G Slide will be receiving improvements to the Genius button, improvements to Wi-Fi calling as well as improvements to the Netflix app. Nothing here is mind boggling, but it should keep owners still rocking the handsets satisfied.

Both updates are being pushed over-the-air, and should be completely finished rolling out by next week. Eager users can grab the update manually in settings, so there is no wait for the notification. While this update is no Ice Cream Sandwich, we’re sure that many users will be happy that their handsets still has some support. We doubt these handsets will be receiving Ice Cream Sandwich anyway, as specially customized UIs. Who owns a myTouch 4G or 4G Slide? Have you seen the update yet? Let us know in the comments!

I am truly needing this update! there is so much lacking in the operation *is that I have now. the asterisks all mean*s *a voice recognition errors and I need VR because I'm a disabled vet with very shaky hands. the old mytouch 4 g that I traded in for this 4 g slide was head and shoulders above this phone in voice recognition software. it began every sentence with a capital letter and put in almost every punctuation mark where I told it to. it was wonderful! this 1 does not have a clue as to what goes where. I have to go back and fix all the mistakes and that kind of defeats the whole purpose of having **capital v capital 'are'(?) capital s. (**see what I mean?) I may as well just type it in on the keyboard in the first place but it's painful. I hope there is a **6 (**fix). I'm calling "dragon/nuance" in the morning to see if they can help. any suggestions?
