While Samsung is currently busy pushing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update out to Galaxy S II devices in Europe and Korea right now, it looks like HTC is starting to sneak in some updates out there in the wild as well. According to a report from Android Community, it looks like lucky owners of the HTC Velocity on Telstra’s network are being notified that an update is ready for their phone. And, it’s not just a minor security update, either.
There’s a video you can watch of a Velocity owner showcasing the new software below. Something to note: Sense 4 is right there, front and center, which is something that HTC has only promised for their new One series devices. So, that’s a good sign right there that HTC really is trying to turn things around in the update department this year.
Now that the Velocity is reportedly seeing the update, owners of the Vivid here in the States should start to get excited. No, it doesn’t mean that the update is right around the corner, but it does indicate that it’s closer than it was yesterday, at least.
