Last week, word on the street, and from owners of the Vivid by HTC, was that the handset was getting updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Sure enough, there were plenty of owners out there who were able to pull the update down from the cloud, and start enjoying the latest version of Android right on their device. The only problem was, AT&T was still saying the update was a ways away, and they didn’t officially announce anything.
That changes today, as the wireless company and manufacturer have officially announced that they are pushing out the update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to Vivid owners. This means you can try to pull the update down on your own through the Settings option, or you can wait until the phone notifies you that an update is available.
Of course, if you managed to get the update last week, this won’t make any difference to you.
