T-Mobile knows how to share the love when it comes to their myTouch brand, no doubt about that. It started with the original myTouch, which was manufactured by HTC, and it was continued on by a pair of devices crafted by LG. And now it looks like T-Mobile is looking to pass the torch onto another company, one that T-Mobile has carried in the past: Huawei. All this is based on a pair of new devices, along with a minor list of specifications, that suggest Huawei will be the next manufacturer of the myTouch line-up.
The two devices are the Huawei U8680, and the U8730. There isn’t much known on the specifications side of things, other than the two devices are identical, save for the landscape slide-out keyboard. They both feature a touchscreen display, with a WVGA 800×480 resolution. Both devices will also be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box. Other than that, there’s nothing known.
There’s no reason why T-Mobile would or would not choose Huawei as their next myTouch manufacturer, so we have no real reason to discount this. There’s no word on a release date, or pricing, but we wouldn’t imagine it should take Huawei or T-Mobile too long to announce these new devices.
