While Galaxy S II owners here in the States are still waiting for any official word as to when their devices will be officially updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, international owners of the handset are already knee-deep in the latest version of Android. With that being said, the source code for the latest update has finally been made available to anyone out there who is interested in taking a look at it.
While this doesn’t mean much for the average Galaxy S II owner, especially if you want to wait for the official update from the manufacturer and carrier, it is a big step for owners out there who like to experiment with custom ROMs. With the source code released, there should be plenty of new ROMs that find their way online, all featuring new elements from the Ice Cream Sandwich build.
