As it stands right now, the rumor mill is expectedly picking up regarding Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy S device. While there were initial rumors that pointed to the release of the device already, or at least an official announcement, none of that has happened. Instead, we’re all just left wondering when? According to a new report from ZDNet Korea, it could be as early as April.
Actually, the article doesn’t say anything about an exact date for an announcement, just suggesting it will be unveiled at some point this month. It instead focuses on when the device will actually launch. The initial report, which we grasped via BGR, says that they confirmed the release date with Cheil Worldwide, which is Samsung’s marketing and advertising agency. The agency is apparently gearing up for a huge round of media for the new device, and they are aiming to kick it off at this year’s summer Olympics, which are taking place in London. The marketing is meant to focus on the launch of the device in the UK, which is expected to be Samsung’s main launch area.
Other reports have suggested that Samsung will launch the new Galaxy S III worldwide simultaneously, but this new report doesn’t necessarily refute or support those claims. We are still waiting for official word from Samsung, so stay tuned.
