Boost and Virgin Mobile customers have two handsets to look forward to next week, with both of Sprint’s prepaid brands tipped to launch high end devices from HTC. As Pocketnow first reported, a version of the EVO 3D known as the EVO V 4G is prepared to hit Virgin, while Boost will get the EVO Design 4G (name supposedly intact). They will be the first two phones to take advantage of the carriers’ adoption of Sprint’s 4G WiMax network (but not, apparently, its LTE services)
The EVO V 4G is said to arrive in both grey and plum and offers up a still attractive set of features for a prepaid carrier. Pairing a 3D glasses-free screen, 5 megapixel camera, qHD screen and a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, the EVO V 4G can still hold its own against many Android handsets on the market.
As for the HTC EVO Design 4G, it sports a 1.2GHz processor and 768MB of RAM, 4″ 960 x 540 qHD display, WiMAX capability, dual five-megapixel and a 1.3 megapixel camera. The EVO Design 4G will arrive with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and hotspot capabilities intact, according to a Pocketnow report.
