Back in February, Samsung unveiled a pair of new tablet devices, true successors to the original Galaxy Tabs that were released, with expectations to launch both versions in March. Over in the UK, if you were expecting to get your hands on either tablet, it looks like you’ll have to wait until the end of this month, before Samsung starts shipping.
That’s the news coming from a new report from ComputerWorld this morning. Samsung had originally stated that both tablets would be finding their ways to stores in March in the UK, and that a global roll-out would follow. According to the report, Samsung needs more time to work on the latest version of Android, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and their proprietary user interface known as TouchWiz. This information comes from a spokesperson speaking for Samsung.
Unfortunately, the spokesperson would not go further into detail. So, at this point, it just looks like software is holding up the release of the new tablets. But we imagine that Samsung is working hard on the fix, and if they can stick to their end-of-April time frame, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal for customers waiting to buy the tablets.
