Verizon To Implement $30 Upgrade Fee Beginning April 22nd

Verizon may have listened to feedback and nixed their attempts to start a $2 bill payment fee at the end of 2011, but that doesn’t mean they won’t try and initiate other fees. Starting on April 22nd, Verizon will introduce a $30 upgrade fee for upgrading to a new device on your account.

Sayeth Verizon:

This fee will help us continue to provide customers with the level of service and support they have come to expect which includes Wireless Workshops, online educational tools, and consultations with experts who provide advice and guidance on devices that are more sophisticated than ever.

Verizon does note that if you take advantage of their “green friendly trade-in program,” found at www.verizonwireless.com/tradein it’s possible to “save money or potentially offset the fee completely.” Verizon didn’t offer any further detail on how a trade-in could completely mitigate the fee.

Who has a problem with this? Raise your hand?

Why does it matter, thanks to the spectrum purchase, Verizon will always have better speeds when AT&T finally catches up... Not to mention they are the last carrier to implement the fee, and it's still cheaper than AT&T, but then again, since u know more than their reps, u would already know that right???

Yes, this is just one more reason I will be leaving them as soon as att gets their network up to par. I don't need their help. I always know more than the reps anyways. The lemmings will pay up, but iwill take my 3 lines and jet as soon as possible.

Lmao. So your going to go pay a 35$ activation fee to avoid a 30 processing fee. And then in 2 years att will still make you pay a 36$ upgrade fee too. Just for alot crappier network. Real genius Robert. Just brilliant.

jnuts5423 Makes sense. Show VZW by not paying them, but will pay more for less service via A Fee & Fee. lol
