ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Updated, Brings Face Unlock And Much Needed Bug Fixes

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is finally getting another update. I say finally because I’ve heard nothing but bad things about the Ice Cream Sandwich update from Transformer owners. I hear of crashes and reboots multiple times a day, instability, and just an almost unusable device. It’s been pretty terrible. Luckily, there is a bug fixing update out now. It’s IML74K.US_epad-9.2.1.24-20120503 and will hopefully fix all the bugs people have been experiencing. It also brings Face Unlock, which didn’t make it to the first ICS build for some reason.

For a while, I was angry that Samsung didn’t update their Galaxy Tab 10.1 to Ice Cream Sandwich, when a lot of their newer tablets were running it. But after seeing the Transformer become unusable for many people after the update, with months of no fixes, I’m somewhat glad Samsung didn’t update too early. I remember their first build of TouchWiz Honeycomb was terrible. It wasn’t slow or unusable, it was just really stuttery and lagged a lot. They fixed it in an update to 3.2, but I really think they learned their lesson with rushing updates. I still hope it’ll be here soon, because despite this I’m still losing my patience.
