With the exception of a unboxing video surfacing this past week, it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the Asus PadFone and it’s two-in-one device approach. That changes today as Asus releases an official teaser for the device-within-a-device highlighting its battery life, processor, seamless display transition and one data plan approach.

If you’re asking yourself what is the Asus PadFone? That’s a fair question:

• 4.3″ Super AMOLED qHD display (tablet is 10.1″ display, no word on resolution)
• Snapdragon S4 processor at 1.5GHz
• 8 megapixel rear camera
• 14,000mAh battery power between tablet, phone and dock up to 102 total hours
• Dynamic display
• Seamless transition between tablet and phone

There is little question that Asus has unveiled something completely new, and dare we call it a novel approach to the smartphone industry. Whether or not they can market it well enough to attract buyers is a totally different story.
