Popular game distribution company GameFly is entering the Android game, and their offerings look to be really tempting. They are creating their own market to compete with the Play Store and TegraZone and similar markets. It will contain Android games, including games they will develop in house.
They will also set aside money to fund small developers looking to make games, in exchange with having them exclusively on their market. If this gains popularity, this could be the big boom in Android gaming that Android needs. It has some great games, a few gems, but the market isn’t massive. This could spark it, especially with GameFly’s funding. And I wouldn’t mind having a gaming-exclusive market on my phone. It’ll make finding quality games easier. As long as it doesn’t drain battery and send notifications. I think this is a great idea.
